Kabir

Kabir is a 14-year-old boy on the Autism Spectrum. He communicates via echolalic phrases and his communication is need-based.

He enjoys the process of creating art, often choosing the colour palette and the subject of his art. He has a distinct vision of what the art piece should look like and chooses his colour palette accordingly. His artwork styles include abstract expressionism, abstract floral art (with loose brush strokes) and process art. He enjoys playing with various textures. Kabir loves spending time outdoors amidst nature, and his art is greatly inspired by nature and his natural surroundings.

His artworks have been showcased in various National and International Art Exhibitions and he has been feted for the same. Highlights include:

  • First Solo Art Exhibition at Arpana Art Gallery, New Delhi (September 2023)
  • 2nd position in the Children's category of the International Art Competition "The Future", curated by Jordanian artist Janaritta Armooti and the Embassy of India, Amman, Jordan (November 2023)
  • Bronze Award at the Busan International Art Festival, Busan, South Korea (October 2024)
